Besty was incredibly kind and helpful during a stressful time. I had no idea that a handheld ticket would result in my insurance company dropping me. It was a year after the ticket that I was informed of this so I was shocked and stressed. Besty assured me that we had time to figure out a solution and she worked around my busy schedule to find me the best insurance products to suit my situation. Besty is a 10/10 recommend!!!

Betsy Bannon was so helpful! I was insuring my new truck with my first personal policy and after one broker went mia on my calls she picked up, although from commercial department, and still handled everything for me within 24 hours! Also she pointed out that previously the drivers history was forgotten about in the prior list of documents that was requested from me. Definitely knows exactly what she’s doing and works great winging it in a different department than her specialty!
I’m a high risk driver for one more year, unfortunately (did not follow cops advisory to fight distracted ticket while checking directions at a red) but she found the best quote for me, and revised this last minuite to find one that further accepted my 8year claim free policy on a commercial registered insurance. She was friendly, prompt to reply, patient, personable, and very knowledgeable. Finding insurance with one more year of this record has been discouraging as a now overly cautious driver, but she made it as seamless as possible

How does auto insurance work in Kitchener?
Car insurance rules and requirements in Kitchener are the same as in other regions of the province.
Auto insurance is mandatory.
All drivers must have a minimum amount of insurance. This includes $200,000 in third-party liability. You also get accident benefits and uninsured automobile coverage.
Direct compensation property damage (DCPD) coverage is optional as of January 1, 2024. It was previously mandatory.
Comprehensive insurance: Covers damage caused by non-driving events. This includes theft or vandalism.
Specified perils insurance: Coverage for perils listed in your policy, such as fire, hail, and weather damage.
All perils insurance: This combines collision and comprehensive. You have protection for all perils unless they are specifically excluded.
Extra protection options will vary based on the insurer. The added coverage will also increase your premiums.

ThinkInsure Tip : Location matters, but your driving record matters more
The average rates in your city/neighbourhood are based on the level of risk in the area (collisions, theft, claims). This you can't control. But what you can control is how you drive. Keeping a claims-free record is your best defence against higher auto insurance premiums.

KW auto insurance policyholders should know this traffic information to drive safely and keep rates down.
The Conestoga Parkway and Highway 8 are key arteries. They connect Waterloo, Kitchener, and Cambridge along with Highway 7/8 and Highway 401.
Unlike many cities whose streets follow a grid pattern, Kitchener is laid out in a radial pattern. It's German settlers who introduced this. They were more familiar with this Continental model than strict, survey-based British grids. It does provide charm and character. However, the street layout presents challenges in assigning compass-based names.
According to the Region of Waterloo Collision Report, the area has an average of about 6,000 accidents per year. About a quarter (1200) of these collisions occur in Kitchener.
KW region commuters had the second shortest commute time of those in the Golden Horseshoe (22.8 minutes).
Tips for driving in Kitchener

Watch out for roundabouts. There are more than 30 in the region.
Finding a parking spot can be a challenge. Scope out where you’ll part before heading downtown.
Expect traffic delays. Always give yourself more time than you need to arrive at your destination.
Watch out for transport trucks on the highways. The city is a high-density transportation route.
